I have a slop sink with PVC pipe clogged with link. Other than Liquid Plumr or a sanke, how can I clear it?
If you have enough of an opening to put a snake down the drain, then go to your local plumbing supply store (Home Depot ect) and rent or buy a plumber's snake. Put the snake to the drain and, if you have an electric one, turn it on and let it do it's job. If it is a crack one, then push it tight to the drain and manually turn the crank until you clear the line. You will feel when you have encountered the clog and when you have cleared the pipe. The other way is to open the drain (their will be a plug in the PVC tubing) and clear it out through that way. If you really want to do it on the cheap, you can take a garden hose and push it down the drain as far as you can and turn it on. Keep pushing it further and further down until you have cleared the line. This method usually takes two people to do (one to handle the hose and one to turn it on and off when needed). There are great drain cleaners/snakes that you can attach to the end of a drill which are relatively cheap and very easy to use as far as getting into traps and such. There are also rubber diaphragm fittings that attach to the end of your hose that will expand once you turn it on, to use the force of water to clean out the pipes
First option: use a sink plunger (just a small version of a regular plunger). Block the overflow with wet rags, and make sure you have enough water in the sink to cover the cup of the plunger. Plunge aggressively for several seconds and repeat until it clears. Then run water through the pipes to remove any debris.
If that doesn't work, you can try a hydraulic pump (more expensive).
If that still doesn't work, you may need to clear the waste trap. The trap is located below the waste outlet. It is a bent tube. Depending on how good you are with plumbing, you can fix this yourself.
If you have a brass pipe: Handle with care to avoid damage. Place a bucket or bowl underneath and using a wrench unscrew the cleansing eye at the bottom of the trap. Use a rod or bent coathanger to wire out any debris remaining. Rinse the sink with water to remove all debris from the trap. Clean the thread of the clearing eye, and before replacing, wrap some PTFE tape around it to prevent leaks. Run water through the system to check the connections are watertight.
If you have a Plastic U trap: Plastic U traps do not have clearing eyes, so it will be necessary to remove the trap. There are lock nuts either side of the trap, which should be unscrewed to release the trap. If they are reluctant in moving, try applying boiling water over the top, remember to have a bowl or bucket below. Before replacing wrap some PTFE tape around the locknut threads to prevent leaks. Run water through the system to check the connections are watertight.
If you have a bottle trap: Bottle traps are the easiest traps to clear because the whole base of the trap can be unscrewed by hand. Once the debris has been removed from the trap, use a rod or metal coathanger to probe the wastepipe for any residue. Rinse the trap thoroughly and cleanse with disinfectant. Before replacing wrap some PTFE tape around the cover thread to prevent leaks. Run water through the system to check the connections are watertight.
The most frustrating part of cleaning the waste trap is putting it back together - leaks are pretty common, so make sure you use tape.

As long as it is thick enough.
If your panels are too thin, what you can do is cut some smaller sheets/strips out of a larger panel (or just buy them that way) and glue them to the larger sheet to ';stiffen up'; the large sheet wherever it is bending too much. Shore up the PVC by gluing 12';x12'; pieces to area where your hooks are needed.
Consider using polycarbonate instead of PVC. That stuff is almost indestructable.

I use 100 %Silicone Sealant. I have some white and clear. You can use it indoor/outdoor, interior/exterior, Cured Sealant is mold and mildew resistant. Won't shrink or crack. Permanently flexible. Water tight. I'm not sure but it may come in colors.

It doesn't say cloth on the container, but a lot of the stuff on t-shirts is hard, it may work. It wouldn't hurt to try it on an old piece of material which is similar to the kind you're going to use. A lot of people already have some in their homes.

Anyway any thing you find in pvc will be very heavy if its not thin. I dont exactly understand the outdoor blind concept for example are they horizontal or vertical, matters not really. I would suggest a diffrent material for your Idea such as CEDAR It is light wieght can be clear coated, painted, or left plain and will hold up to the weather for years. The cedar can be ripped on a table saw to make the slats that you want.
